So a friend asked me last night if I have done any crafts lately. I was surprised at myself when I said, not really. Then I realized I had to make my moms Christmas gift. So I made it last night. Yea, it was 10pm but, who cares?

So here is where the idea came from: A few months ago we were at a local car show. They had a lot of craft venders there. One that caught my eye was selling t-shirt and sweat shirts with an outline of a vehicle on them. They were done in sparkly puffy paint. I was seriously going to buy on for my mother for Christmas or her birthday, only to find out they did not have a Chevy Chevelle. So.... you guessed it.. I decided to make my own. I think it turned out pretty well. She used to own a 1970 Pink Chevy Chevelle. I decided to do the outline on a pink shirt to honor that! I hope you like my latest craft!

Rail Cars

Last weekend I went to see the little Rail Cars do their "Toys for Tots" run. They do this every year and collect toys. I used to go see them with my dad every year and we usually brought my nephew, Mason. Now that my dad has passed away, I have been going alone. The little cars are so cute. I know they had a purpose years ago, but now they are just fun for their owners. They also have a contest of "best decorations" so you will see some of them have decorations on them! I can't help but wonder how the people are not frozen by the time they get done with the run, as some of them don't have a cover, most no heat. The ladies are always bundled up with many layers and blankets! I am very fortunate to have someone e-mail me and remind me every year when they will be coming thru, a friend of my dads. Mudbog

So this weekend was the last mudbog of the year...at least that we attend. We had a really great time, got the truck really muddy and I got to spend some time with all 4 of my nieces!! There was just the right amount of people there and nothing got out of control! Can't wait for next year!

My cats are a forever source of entertainment. We bought a huge box of cat litter and when I took the 2 smaller boxes out I left the big box on the floor. Immediately, one of the cats was in it. The next day, the bigger one was in it. I have left it in the corner of the laundry room for them to play. I guess if I don't have kids, this will have to do for now!

Every 3rd Saturday in the summer the local Burger King lets a local car club do a "cruise-in" in their parking lot and the lot next to it. We have gone to every one this summer with the Chevelle. It is a nice time out, oldies music, 50/50 drawing, door prizes and quiet fun. Here are a few pics from the last one this summer. Can't wait til next year!

Today I got to baby-sit for a friends almost 2-year-old. It was fun. I love having all of these kids in my life. We ate some cereal for breakfast, played with tractors on the living room floor, played with the cat, went outside to enjoy the beautiful day and play in the big truck and did a few other things before he passed out for a nice nap and woke up in time for his mommy to get him. These are the little things in life that make me smile.

We had a really busy weekend. On Saturday we went to a picnic at my brothers house. It was very humid out, but we all managed to eat too much food and have some fun! Then on Sunday we made another drive to NJ for my Uncle Tom and Aunt Candy's annual Lobster Fest party. It was a really great time. It was so very humid out and it rained most of the time, but when the Veth's have food involved, nothing will stop us! We put up some umbreallas and a long table and ate under the small roof of the porch! A great time was had by all!

Trip to MA

I was fortunate enough to have a visit in Haverhill, MA with my cousins-Brian and Teena and their adorable daughters Violet and Vintage. I traveled with another cousin, Bonnie. We had a wonderful time!! The girls are so cute and Violet is a total joy. She is very active and very opinionated!! I love her honesty and her innocence. I was told we were lucky enough to have come at the right time to also see Vintage becoming very animated! Until this week, she did not do too much! HAHA, we had her laughing and smiling and loving the whole time. I was pretty happy just sitting in the rocker holding her. I could have done that the entire time I was there! Fortunately we were able to do a few other things. We enjoyed an afternoon out in downtown Haverhill (where I found an awesome afghan at the thrift store for only $10!!) and also an evening with Uncle Bob and Aunt Kathy. We also got to explore a cute little town, Newburyport, where the baby had her blessing at a nice church. I think I could live in that little town very happily!

I thank all of my cousins for such a wonderful time and for Bonnie for allowing me to travel with her! I hope to be able to do it again soon!!

Cake weekend

I worked really hard on 2 cakes this weekend. I love doing cakes! I tried a new technique with the Eagle Scout cake and thought it came out extremely well! I have never done 2 cakes in one weekend that I sold before, so it was big deal for me! Now for the rest of this week... probably a lot of cleaning inside and getting ready for my next 2 weekends of visiting family in MA and NJ!!

Up Late

So, it is after 3am. I am still awake. I really have no clue why. I have not been sleeping well the past few nights and to make things worse, Brian snores so loud I can't stand it! I am now in the other end of the house and I can hear him clear as day over the a/c and the fan! Ugg... so here I sit, trying to make myself tired. The question is, how do you make yourself tired. I suppose I should just give in and take a tylenol pm and deal with the sleeping in too late tomorrow. Unfortunately, that creates a cycle I don't want to create. So, I will look around on the internet a while and then maybe, eventually, get some sleep. Maybe if I stay up all night and all day tomorrow, that will fix it!

Lost Power

This weekend was a pretty rough one! We lost power, due to tornado-warning storms that came thru Saturday night. The power was off from 9:30pm til 5:30am. We had gone to a car show that night and sat in the heat for a few hours! Luckily, that made me tired and I was able to sleep with the tiny fan Brian hooked up for us! Then we lost power again on Sunday, around 1:30pm til 1:30 am... yea 12 hours. I was getting a little worried about our refridgerator and freezer, but Brian assured me things would be fine. I tried to sleep, but the heat seemed worse that night! Everything seems fine now... they came and repaired the lines that we saw sagging. I am just glad we didn't have a longer outage or that it wasn't a 80 degree night!

Brian's Family Reunion

So, last Saturday we went to the annual McCormick Family Reunion. This is Brian's mom's side of the family. We had a good time, it was at our local park in Bloomsburg, PA. The weather was very hot, but luckily we had a big pavillion and a lot of trees to help out. I believe this is the 4th reunion I have been to. The best part of the reunion is visiting with some cousins from SC. They are the nicest people and we hope to go visit them this September, if I can remember to remind Brian!
