My nephew's birthday

So today my sister had an 8th birthday party for my nephew, Mason. I have made all of Mason's 8 birthday cakes and hope to make as many more as needed! He loves all of the cakes I made for him. This year it was a video game themed cake. He picked out the pic and I had it made and fixed it up! He loved it, of course! The party was a good time, as always is when the family is together. It was hard to pull the boys away from the video games, but we did a few times! It is so crazy to think of all my nieces/nephews growing up!! Well, here is the cake.. enjoy!

This Moment (Inspired by littlebirdvv)

A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

Awesome beads

Last week my mom and I made a trip to AC Moore (our closest craft store is 45 minutes away) and I found these awesome beads! I have seen them around before but never picked any up. This time I got a pack and some small beads to match. I made 2 cute bracelets for me and my mom. I just loved the way they turned out!!

Valentine Candy

So, I saw this yummy recipe for homemade conversation hearts. I immediately wanted to make them, because I LOVE them!! When Valentine's Day comes around I usually buy quite a few bags! This year I only limited myself to one... but then I came across this recipe! Unfortunately, or fortunately -however you want to look at it- the recipe made 450 1-inch hearts!! Also, it was harder to write on them than I thought! I tried the edible writing pens, which didn't work very well at all because they work too much like a paint brush and are not good for such small writing. I decided to try using a toothpick and food coloring. This worked much better. Some of them smeared because of leftover powederd sugar on top. Oh well, it was fun to do and they tasted so yummy!!

Bracelets 4 Cousins!

I have been waiting to post these 2 pics of some bracelets I made for daughters of my cousins. The one for Vintage was for her Christening and the one for Sloane was for her "birth present". I had such fun making them. I am so happy to finally post them on my blog!

"New" Glasses!

Today I went to a new flea market in Berwick. This building has been empty for years. Finally, someone has done something with it that might stick! The place was PACKED with both people and items! I had thought of getting a booth there, but realize now there is just no room!

The best part of the day was when I found these vintage iced tea (I believe) glasses! I just love them! Of course I love them because of the cherries at the bottom! What an awesome thing to have in my kitchen!!

Weekend Trip with Family!

So, I have had a busy time this past week or 2!! I went on a little "vacation" of sorts last weekend. I left for NJ on Thursday afternoon to spend the night and go to MA with my cousins and aunt to a Christning for my cousins baby, then back to NJ for the night on Sunday! I finally made it home Monday afternoon. Whew... I got that all out! We had a blast. I love visiting my family in both places! The weather was beautiful and the snow was piled high! We had a very smooth drive and lots of laughs along the way! Miss Vintage was extremely wonderful and beautiful, as was her big sister-Violet. We managed to do quite a bit in a few short days. We even made it to a local thrift shop where Emily and I each bought a mason jar full of jewelry. We had quite a "treasure hunt" after the Christening!
I was not able to do my Friday post, too much going on and a bit tired! Instead, here are a few photos of the trip!
