Imagine loving candy. Loving candy so much that you just have to have it. But, you can't. You are not allowed. You don't know why, but you can't. Nobody can tell you the reason, nobody can explain it, but you just can't.
Now, imagine having to walk past a candy store once a week. No matter what, you HAVE to walk past this candy store once a week. You will do this for most of your life. You cannot go another route, you cannot stop going where you are headed. You just have to pass this candy store. You will never go in and purchase candy, you will just see it as you pass.
What do you do? Do you hate that walk every single week? Are you miserable every time you have to do it? Do you get so angry that you stomp around and make a scene? What other choices do you have? Could you just walk by and try to ignore the shop? Just look the other way when you approach it. Try to pretend it isn't there. It would be difficult, but maybe. Perhaps you could pause by the place and just "window shop". Maybe that would get you past the awkward moment in your week. Somehow, admiring the candy would ease the pain. Knowing that others are buying candy and enjoying it could bring you some peace.
This is the scenario I came up with in my head for a problem I am having. It's an awful problem. It depresses me. I refuse to let it take over, but it is there and will not go away for a long time, if ever. I guess the only thing I can do right now, is go and have a piece of REAL candy and enjoy the fact that at least I can do that.

Graduation Gift
I saw a really cute graduation gift idea on the oh-so-famous Pinterest... I decided to change up the idea. Being a little low on cash at graduation time, this was perfect!
First I had to search for a 2013 penny... A bit rough, believe it or not. A penny, as in lucky penny. I was lucky enough to find a few!
Next I had my awesome hubby drill holes in them... not an easy task, as the holes needed to be small enough and well placed as to not mess up the penny! He did a great job.
Then I put a ring in the penny and hung it on the necklace. I think it is an awesome graduation gift. A lucky penny with your graduation year to wear! I am planning one as a key ring too!
I hope you like it!

Mother's Day Craft
I saw this cool birdbath on a blog somewhere and thought I would give it a try. Of course, I didn't do exactly what I saw, where is the fun in that? My mom loves plants and loves the terra cotta pots. When I originally saw the bird bath made out of pots, I thought she would love it! That person made it with 3 bigger pots and I believe a bigger base. My mom doesn't have a lot of room, so I made mine kind of smaller. A 12" pot and a 10" pot with a 12" base. The original one was also painted. I decided to keep them the plain color, to match the plants she has on her porch. I also only attached the base to the top. This way, if she needs to transport it or put it away, she can take it apart to move it. I attached the base to the bottom of the smaller pot with Liquid Nails. So far it is working well! I am sure you could do this with any pot you find. Hope you enjoy it! My mom loved it! We are just waiting for all of her birds to decide it is safe to use!

Tablescape
It has been a while since my last post! Things have been a bit crazy, yet a bit boring. I guess I have not felt like posting anything. Nothing exciting enough to post! The other day I was reading some blogs and realized that I, too, have a "tablescape"! I didn't realize that is what I had going on in my kitchen! I have a cherry motif in my kitchen, it has been slow going finding stuff to go in it. I would love to paint the walls red, or at least red trim. As long as we rent, that won't be happening! So, for now, I just keep collecting red things and cherry things. Here is what my table looks like on a daily basis! Enjoy!
